Garden beds and grow bags across America

Millions of Americans lack access to fresh, healthy food.

When people are denied fresh food, they lose more than nourishment—they lose the power to shape their own food future. Big Green believes that growing food changes lives, and the people closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions. We put decision-making and resources directly in the hands of local leaders, funding what works and growing change from the ground up.

      • Solutions from the Ground Up

Every organization funded by Big Green grows food, but purpose and impact vary. Food is the root cause of many interlocking social issues, from hunger to health, community development to environmental harm. While outcomes differ, the starting point remains the same: grow more food.

      • Collective Action

Big Green offers more than a grant. Once granted, organizations join a vast network of other food-growing initiates across the country that are actively shaping the future of food.

      Our Focus

The future we’re building begins with food. Learn why.
