Seeding

Green onions require a moderate amount of space to grow. To plant green onion in your grow bag, make three evenly spaced holes in a triangle formation. Place 2-3 seeds in each hole, about ¼” deep.  Lightly cover the seeds with soil and water. Once the seedlings have sprouted, thin them to 1 strong plant per hole.

Growing Conditions

  • 2-3 Seeds
    1/4” deep

  • 55°F – 75°F
    Cool/Warm

  • 6-8 Hours
    Full Sun to Partial Shade

  • 65 Days
    to Harvest

Harvest

Harvest when desired by loosening soil around roots and removing the whole plant, or cut an inch above the soil to allow them to regrow for multiple harvests.

Garden Tips

Once your green onions have been harvested they can regrow from their roots. Save the white root ends with about an inch of the green stalk. Place them in a glass of water, and they’ll regrow new shoots in just a few days. You can replant in your grow bag for a continuous supply of fresh green onions all season long.
