Nurturing Our Seeds is an educational, urban farm and community hub dedicated to expanding food access, empowering growers, and fostering food education in Detroit. By modeling sustainable agriculture and creating spaces for connection, we equip our community to grow, share, and thrive together.
Nurturing Our Seeds serves as a model for sustainable urban agriculture, education, and community development in Detroit. Through farm-based learning programs, CSA shares, food access points, youth engagement, and community dinners, we reach an estimated 1,000+ residents annually with fresh food access and hands-on education. In the past year, we’ve grown and distributed thousands of pounds of produce, trained dozens of beginning farmers, and created spaces for neighbors to learn, connect, and lead in building a resilient local food system.
