In 15 years of serving Community, We have learned that building relationships is key to impact and resilience! Creating connectivity and access to growing food and it’s preparation, providing education about nutrition and diet, creating regular space in Community for accessing fresh foods, sharing Community meals, convening Folks together for active living activities and annual events, along with creating seasonal employment for Youth and Adults from the Community has been a privilege to witness and a blessing to be a part of!! Growing Food and sharing it changes lives!!!
In a typical season, Mo’ Betta Green hosts 18 weeks of Farmers Markets; 6 Community Farm Dinners (no cost to Community); 2 Annual Events — Juneteenth Freedom Celebration and Random Gestures of Compassion Day. Additionally no cost offerings such as: cooking and nutrition education, active living classes (Yoga, Qi Gong, Zumba, and Dance), and farming/gardening education is available. We are able to touch hundreds of Community Members each season through these various engagement points.
