Our Grantees Growing Hope

Growing Hope fosters an equitable and sustainable local food system where all people are empowered to grow, sell, buy, prepare, and eat nourishing food.

We are part of a growing movement, and you are at its roots.

Across gardens, farms, kitchens, and markets, we are reclaiming the right to grow, share, and eat food that nourishes our bodies and our communities. Each year, our collective work connects thousands of neighbors to fresh, locally-grown produce, living-wage food businesses, and the skills to feed themselves for a lifetime.

Together, we’ve:

  • Invested hundreds of thousands of dollars back into the hands of local farmers and food entrepreneurs.
  • Equipped hundreds of youth and adult growers with the skills to plant, harvest, and share culturally-relevant food.
  • Distributed tens of thousands of pounds of fresh produce, much of it free or low-cost, to BIPOC, low-income, and senior community members.
  • Built over 500 home and community garden beds, providing annual seeds, seedlings, and compost.

This isn’t charity; it’s sovereignty. It’s dismantling the structures that have denied our people the means to feed themselves and replacing them with networks of abundance, joy, and interdependence. As one program participant told us, “Because of this work, I will never go hungry, and now I’m passing those skills on to my child.”

The seeds are in our hands, the soil is beneath our feet, and the power to transform the food system is already growing.
