Grinding Stone Collective is an Indigenous-led nonprofit guided by our New ERA model: Education, Reciprocity, and Action, to revitalize ancestral food systems, restore Native lands, and strengthen community health through intertribal and intergenerational collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Grinding Stone Collective runs three core initiatives: First Foods Program, Intertribal Pop-Up Pantry, and Stewards/Stewards Jr. initiatives. Together, these programs support cultural education, Indigenous food sovereignty, and land rematriation. Since 2020, we’ve reached over 10,000 people through 80+ events with participants representing 52 Tribal Nations/Clanships. Our pantry program alone has distributed more than 16,000 lbs of culturally relevant foods, while our Stewards programs have rematriated over 200 native plants across community sites. Through these efforts, GSC is building Indigenous-led food systems rooted in Education, Reciprocity, and Action.
