Plant a Seed Day 2023 Recap

Thank YOU!

Thanks to your amazing support, we were able to inspire thousands across the country start growing their own food on Plant a Seed Day.

From nonprofit organizations providing seeds to their communities, to teachers hosting planting parties for their students, and families digging into their backyards to create their own  garden, the Plant a Seed Day festivities were in full swing.

Plant a Seed Day was founded in 2018 with a mission to raise awareness about the life changing impact of growing food. And because of your unwavering dedication and support, it has grown into the biggest planting day of the year!

So, let’s show some appreciation to those who participated in making Plant a Seed Day an exciting and impactful day. We’re grateful for your contribution, and we look forward to more green revolutions in the future!

Plant to Grant Winners

We’re excited to announce the winners of our Plant to Grant Challenge, a Plant a Seed Day celebration aimed at funding nonprofits that are making a difference in their communities. In this challenge, the organization with the highest number of pledges to plant would win $25,000, while five lucky organizations would each receive $5,000.

It was a tough competition, but in the end, we are thrilled to announce that the organization with the most pledges and the recipient of the $25,000 prize is… Make Our Day!

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants who took part in the challenge. We were truly overwhelmed by the response we received, and it was evident that every organization put their heart and soul into this challenge. You’ve demonstrated the power of planting and the transformative impact it can have on the world.

Make Our Day

The winner of the $25,000 Plant to Grant is… Make Our Day!

Make Our Day is an Aurora, Missouri based nonprofit that provides community classes including gardening, cooking from the garden, and yoga!

This #PlantASeedDay, Make Our Day celebrated out and about encouraging their community to pledge to plant! “This weekend we went out and asked 100s of people to plant a seed with us or tell us about what they’re planting this year and why. We spent time at community groups, were allowed to set up at a couple local businesses, went to a festival, the movie theatre, multiple town squares.” says Kathryn.

Thank you for the amazing work you do for your community and congratulations!
