Our mission is opening doors to new possibilities by strengthening children and families, and improving communities. We envision a supportive community where all children and families are safe, healthy, and valued.
We are the largest social service agency in the Columbia Gorge area. We have over 35 programs that support and empower people in our community that provide services to families, children, provide mentoring and education, treatment services, leadership opportunities, economic development and much more. We reach over 9,800m people annually in seven counties (five in OR and two in WA).
Our Raíces (Roots) Cooperative Farm, founded in 2009, has grown from a single community garden into a thriving cooperative of more than 30 families farming across three sites. The cooperative provides culturally rooted training in leadership, cooperative governance, finance, and land stewardship, empowering members to sell their produce through a CSA, local farmers markets, and the regional food bank to stock community pantries.
With support from Big Green, Raíces will expand operations by cultivating a newly secured 3-acre plot—installing irrigation, planting crops, and hosting community visits—ultimately generating program revenue and farmer income within one year.
