Our Grantees WOMEN IN NEED of DISCOVERING OWN WORTH

W.I.N.D.O.W. Prides itself on the diversity that we have being able to address the needs of our community. Whether it is food for the body or food for the soul.

We have social driven and health driven programs that serve mainly the Southside of Chicago. We have a Black On Black Love Community Garden that serves as not only health nutritious vegetables but we also provide a safe space for emotional and spiritual programming as well. We provide a safe space in a community where Gun & Gang violence are prevalent. We have peace circles dealing with trauma but when they leave, they not only take a peace and calm that they did not come in with, but also fresh food and a good meal while they are with us.

We serve probably close to 200 people in the 6 months the garden is awake directly but many more where we distribute to food pantries and markets that makes our reach even further, but we also go into the Juvenile Facilities where we work with both boys with the Great Aspirations program and girls with the WI.N. Program 48 weeks out of the year where we deliver hope for a future that is based on delivering the good judgement and common sense based steps. we work with approximately 50 boys a year and 50 girls a year. We also produce films that serve as a teaching tool in the schools and organizations that serve at risk youth.
