WeeCycle’s mission is to recycle essential baby gear and match it to Colorado families in need. Our mission is twofold, to support families with infants and toddlers struggling to provide for their children, and to contribute to a healthier, more sustainable planet for future generations.
Key Programs: WeeCycle operates two programs: Essential Baby Gear and Environmental Preservation. Through the Essential Baby Gear program, WeeCycle provides Colorado families in need with the essential gear their infants and toddlers need to thrive, including formula and baby food, diapering supplies, car seats, strollers, cribs, and more. Items are distributed through our network of partner organizations across the state, and at Mobile Baby Essentials Distribution events hosted on a weekly basis in underserved communities. Through the Environmental Preservation program, WeeCycle keeps thousands of pounds of consumer goods out of the landfill each year by redistributing or recycling them. Community donations are collected twice a week, then sorted, cleaned, and inventoried. Items that are in good condition are redistributed to families in need, while expired, recalled, or otherwise unsafe items are removed from circulation and recycled in various ways. For example, WeeCycle has a partnership with the Colorado Department of Transportation to recycle damaged or expired car seats, ensuring they stay off the road and out of the landfill.
Number of People Served: In 2024, WeeCycle served 146,867 Colorado infants and toddlers (including some duplication/repeat service). WeeCycle has seen steady growth since our inception in 2008 and astronomical growth since 2020. Our goal is to build sustainability within our programming across the state and to expand and grow where possible within the current operating parameters. WeeCycle’s programs are scalable with funding, staffing and space.
Key Achievements & Impact Statistics: In 2024, WeeCycle distributed over 7 million diapers, 765,758 meals of baby food and formula, and 672,721 essential baby gear items worth over $3 million total. WeeCycle’s Diaper Bank was established in 2018, and is now the largest diaper bank in Colorado.
