Tulips are up, redbuds are open, Learning Gardens are full of spring crops, and it’s already time to start thinking about summer.
To help you through the planning process we will have a free Spring Harvest and Summer Planting Workshop at Ernie Pyle School 90 on Wednesday, May 15th from 5:30-7:30 pm. This is for garden team members and school staff who help grow food and/or teach in the Learning Garden.
We’ll break out into small groups and tailor the information to your school’s specific needs. Whether your Learning Garden will be Kicked-Off this fall or you plan to run your own summer planting, we’ll cover everything you need to know! Topics include harvesting from your spring garden, tracking the harvest, planting your summer garden, and how to get the most out of your Learning Garden during the summer and fall. Throughout the workshop, we will also demonstrate some of our favorite ways to engage students while in the Learning Garden!
