Real Food Lab provides high school students with a unique opportunity to grow toward college and career readiness goals, investigate real food heroes in their own communities, and explore entrepreneurial concepts through the lens of real food. Students and teachers use a school or community garden as a bridge to connect concepts taught in the classroom with the skills needed to launch a socially responsible real food school businesses or event. Real Food Lab Includes:
- Real Food Lab Curriculum: 15 lessons including a capstone project called The Design Challenge.
- Real Food Lab Practicum: A locally designed experience based at a school or community garden in which students grow the food they will use in their local distribution business or event.
- On-demand instructor/facilitator introduction course.
- Access to Big Green’s resource library including all the instructional materials needed for teachers and students.
