Thanksgiving falls right in the middle of our planting and harvesting seasons, therefore, it is a great time to pause and reflect on all the things we have to be thankful for. We are thankful for all the wonderful teachers, administrators, support and after-school staff, parents, and partners that make the LA community of Learning Gardens such a dynamic ecosystem of ideas, experiences, and passions.
We are thankful for all the time and effort every Learning Garden Team member puts into cultivating the outdoor classroom and integrating it into their lessons. We are grateful for all the students that come out ready to get their hands dirty, who get excited when they see a bug, and amazed at how small a kale seed is. We are thankful for all parents and parent coordinators that help some our schools water, weed, and maintain Learning Gardens. We are grateful for staff that ensure plants are not bothered during recess or after-school, as well as custodians and facilities managers that ensure gardens are watered over break and kept clean throughout the year. Lastly, we are grateful for front office staff for helping us get the assistance we need in delivering seeds, seedlings, soil, and setting up meetings.
We could not do this without you!
