On Earth Day, Chicago’s own Passion House Coffee Roasters began selling limited edition 12 oz. bags of a special coffee blend to benefit our work building and supporting Learning Gardens in underserved Chicago Public Schools (CPS).
Since 2011, Passion House Coffee Roasters have been pursuing the art of great coffee in Chicago, IL. Driven by their passion and guided by a lifetime of experience, they seek to elevate their customer’s coffee experience by sourcing quality, sustainable beans and roasting them to their fullest potential, by hand, on a vintage 1957 German Probat cast-iron roaster. Their philosophy is simple; find coffee farmers, coffee importers, and coffee enthusiasts that share the same passion for the art of coffee, and collectively create quality coffees.
This fully sustainable coffee has notes of chocolate and caramel and is velvety smooth with a hint of citrus. For every bag of coffee sold, $4.50 will go to benefit Big Green’s Chicago region, where, to date, we’ve built over 150 Learning Gardens, reaching more than 101,000 CPS students. Contributions will support the Chicago 200 Initiative, the largest city-wide initiative of its kind, where we aim to build 200 Learning Gardens (or one third of the district) in CPS by July 2019.
Bags are available both in-store at their Logan Square Café (2631 N. Kedzie, Chicago, IL 60647), and online for $15. Customers may subscribe and receive the bags on an ongoing basis, supporting Big Green Chicago and your good coffee habit long-term.
