Learning Garden Beautification: VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Happy New Year, garden enthusiasts! The first month of 2020 has been filled with lots of much needed rest and preparation in the Big Green office. But it’s time to get back to the garden. Your Big Green Memphis team is ready for an exciting, green, veggie-packed spring season. It seems far away, but gardeners, spring is around the corner!

As we prepare for a new planting season, we’ve begun an exciting restoration and rejuvenation project in some of our oldest gardens. Our gardens built in 2015 need a little love and soil revitalization and we intend to give it to them.

Introducing…the Learning Garden Beautification Project! We have compiled a list of 30 of our oldest school gardens and will be visiting each one this spring. With a team of volunteers we will add a native soil blend that will introduce new nutrients into the soil, wash garden beds, repair irrigation, and generally beautify the Learning Gardens!

Dear reader, it is your time to shine! We need your help to complete this ambitious project! Click here to visit Big Green Memphis’ page on Volunteer Odyssey and sign up to volunteer. (If you’ve never heard of Volunteer Odyssey, you should check them out. We’re delighted to partner with them on this and future Learning Garden projects!)
