If you are able to make even one visit to your school garden in early July to keep the soil healthy and support your schoolyards ecosystem schedule a pick up of oat and pea seeds and buckwheat seeds. These crops add organic matter and some nitrogen to the soil as well as keeping weeds down and improving soil texture. If you are growing food at school, sign up to pick up a bag of organic fertilizer. If your school has decided not to grow food this summer cover crops are the absolute best way to keep your garden healthy for when students return. We know outdoor learning when students return will be so important for everyone’s health and safety as well as helping to support the social-emotional needs of our students. what better way to do that than to have a garden well cared for when they return. Growing food this summer? If so, you will likely need some fertilizer for healthy and productive plants. Please use this opportunity to sign up to come pick up a bag of organic Sustane fertilizer. Our supplies are limited due to COVID-19. Please respect that this is intended for use only in school gardens and not for home use and should be prioritized for schools growing food. Any bags left over will be used for schools growing food in the fall and next year. Use the links to sign up for a 15-minute window to pick up these supplies to help care for your gardens this summer. You will need to enter your name, email and whether you would like cove crop seeds or fertilizer. When you arrive at the location, pull up at the designated area described in the signup, and pop your trunk. Big Green staff will place the items requested in your car. We will be wearing masks and gloves and actively practicing social distancing.
